FSFA Fish Report

Dan was out fishing with Alex Fischer when they landed a monster Snapper-Mangrove. Dan reeled in a 7-pound, 24-inch beauty using OtherBait as bait. They were 50 miles out in the Gulf of America, near Pine Island. Dan couldnt believe his luck, I caught this one on a chunk of bonito! Who knew the fish loved a little Italian twist in their diet? Strong work, Dan!

Dan certainly reeled in a whopper of a Grouper-Red out there in the Gulf of America! Looks like Alex Fischers slow pitch jigging skills paid off with that 9 lb, 25-inch catch. Maybe next time Dan can try a new tactic and see if he can hook an even bigger fish, or he can just bask in the glory of this impressive catch!

FSFA Fish Report

Dan had quite the unexpected battle with a sandbar shark while fishing with Alex Fischer in the Gulf. Using a slow pitch jigging technique for red snapper, Dan landed an impressive 84-inch beast. The excitement was real, but unfortunately, theres no picture to prove it – they had to cut the assist hook off the lure when the shark got too close for comfort. Looks like Dans got quite the fish tale to tell at the next FSFA meeting!

FSFA Fish Report

Dan and Alex had quite the surprise while out in the Gulf of America on 2025-06-10! Dan reported catching an 84-inch shark using a Jig as bait. He was slow pitch jigging for red snapper when the massive sandbar shark latched on. It was a fun fight on the plug rod, but unfortunately, they had to cut off the assist hook when the shark was boatside. No picture, but they estimated it to be over 7ft long. What a haul!

Cassie out on the high seas with Chris and Pogey, reeling in a Sailfish the size of a small car! Well, maybe not that big, but 50 lbs and 52 inches is still pretty impressive. Cassie released the majestic catch, giving it a chance to fight another day. Looks like shes the queen of the ocean out of Offshore Port! Keep those lines tight, Cassie!
